RETIRED FIRE POLICE CAPTAIN ARTHUR ZIMMERMAN PASSES
April 26
The Womelsdorf Volunteer Fire Company #1 regrets to announce the passing of retired Fire Police Captain Arthur 'Zimmy' Zimmerman.
'Zimmy' as he was known, had joined the WVFC in the 1960s and was active until he retired in 2008. Prior to serving as Fire Police Captain from 1991-2008, Zimmy served as a driver, assistant engineer and fire police officer.

VOLUNTEERS SAVE MARION TWP CHICKEN HOUSE
April 09
Yesterday at 1019am, Ladder and Engine 47 assisted the Marion Fire Co with a chicken house fire at 1171 Route 419 in Marion Twp. Command 52 arrived on scene with light smoke showing from the egg packing area of the building.

On Saturday, March 16 members and their significant others gathered for our annual banquet where we take an evening out to celebrate our volunteers and accomplishments for the previous year. This year it was held at the Country Fare Restaurant in Myerstown. WEEKEND BRINGS 5 CALLS FOR THE WVFC
March 18
On Saturday, March 16 around just prior to our annual banquet, one of our members came across a vehicle accident with injuries at Rts.419 & 422 in Womelsdorf and called 911. Volunteers from Engine and Attack 47 and Rescue 34 (Newmanstown) assisted with spill control, traffic control and debris clean-up. One driver was transported to a local hospital with an injury.

CRASH WITH ENTRAPMENT IN HEIDELBERG
March 16
On Friday, March 15 just after 7pm the WVFC and Rescue 18 from the Western Berks FD were dispatched to assist the Robesonia FC on Furnace Rd. south of Hill Rd. in Heidelberg Twp. for a vehicle accident with entrapment, car into a utility pole. NORTH HEIDELBERG BRUSH FIRE
February 25
This afternoon at 219pm the WVFC was dispatched to assist the Bernville Fire Co. with a brush fire endangering a shed at 446 North Heidelberg Rd. in North Heidelberg Twp.

WVFC ASSISTS AT BERNVILLE HOUSE FIRE
February 17
This morning at midnight the WVFC along with other mutual aid companies were dispatched to assist the Bernville Fire Co. with a working house fire at 253 E. 4th St. in Bernville Borough.
Upon our arrival Ladder 47 set up for roof operations and assisted with vertical ventilation and overhaul.
The WVFC was back at station at 330am.

WVFC RECEIVES STATE GRANT
February 11
The WVFC has received $15,590.33 through the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner’s Fire and EMS Grant program. The grant will be used to purchase forcible entry training door props and add additional portable radios to our engine and ladder.
