A Message from the Chief - Spring/Summer 2022

Dear Residents of Womelsdorf Borough,

Springtime already!

While we have been in this process prior, our department has been currently working with the Conrad Weiser School District, West Elementary and local emergency services developing emergency plans and ideas regarding recent events.  I appreciate the help, concern and response from everyone involved in this.  As more details come to light, including many failures, we all must find ways to stop, combat, learn and prepare for such events.  I ask all of us to keep a watchful alertness for such activity.

Spring season / Scam season.  Everyone needs to be on constant alert.  The Scammers seem to be working extra hard these days.  Victims are still being taken for their hard-earned money.  Never ever give sensitive information to someone until you are sure you known who you are giving it to and why.  Ask questions.  If any doubt or question please feel free to contact your local police department.  Here are two websites with some good information on how not to become a victim of a scam:

With the warmer weather also comes the reminder the Borough does have a borough ordinances about grass & weeds needing to be trimmed under 6".  Properties found to be in violation can and will be cited in accordance with the ordinance.

Sincerely,

Chief John Pontician and Officers of the Womelsdorf Borough Police Department
